Icon of Our Holy Mother Eanswitha of Folkestone, Abbess (d. c. 640)

Feast: Aug. 31

Icon available from St. George Orthodox Information Service, England, scanned anew Nov. 12, 2005.

St. Eanswitha was the grand-daughter of the King St. Ethelbert of Canterbury who was converted by the preaching and miracles of St. Augustine the Apostle of the English. Her sacred Relics are kept in an Anglican church at Folkestone in Kent.
