Icon of Our Holy Father
Eleutherius, Bishop of Tournai, Martyr
Feast: February 20
St. Eleutherius became Bishop
of Tournai in Belgium in the year 486. He was so successful in
preaching the Gospel in his area, and attacking the heresy of Arianism,
that he was attacked by a group of Arians upon leaving his church one
day, and was beaten so severely that he died five weeks later. Holy
Father Eleutherius, pray to God for us!
