Back to WESTERN SAINTS ICONS

Icons of St. Hubert, Bishop of Liège (d. 727), Wonderworker

Feast: May 30, Nov. 3

A disciple of the holy Bishop-Martyr Lambert of Liège, St. Hubert was converted by the appearance of a stag with a cross between its antlers. He put an end to idol worship in his diocese, converted many to Christ, and became known as a wonderworker.

Top Icon: by the hand of Aidan Hart, Oecumenical Patriarchate, UK.

Next Icon: of unknown provenance. St. Hubert is shown upon the right; on the left is St. Amandus of Maastricht.

Next Icon: from the cathedral of the Moscow Patriarchate at Brussels in Belgium. Saints of Belgium. St. Hubert is in the bottom row of Saints, the 3rd from the left. He is shown in white and gold vestments with a little white cap on his head and with his hallmark stag just to his left.

Final Icon: of unknown provenance, with thanks to Jean-Michel Dossogne.

A note on the icon graphics we host on this site, including the above icon:
