Alaska, Priest & Martyr
Feast: Sept. 24
Born in the Russian Empire, St. Juvenal was a
missionary in Alaska, where he was killed as North America's first
martyr by indigenous pagans at Iliamna, who were trying to put a stop
to the spread of Orthodox Christianity among their people. Holy Martyr
Juvenal, pray to God for us!
