St. Plectrudis was a Frankish
princess, born about the year 660, who married King Pippin. She left
the court, however, and became the foundress of the renowned convent of
St.-Maria im Kapitol in Cologne, Germany, working there at the same
time St. Willibrord was evangelising. This image appears at her shrine
in Cologne.
