In the
lower icon above, St. Henry is in the centre, beneath Christ, standing
crowned and anointed. Supporting his arm, on the left, is St. Ulric of
Augsburg. St. Ulric reposed at St. Gall Abbey in Switzerland in the
year of Our Lord 973.
Top icon: inscription in
German. This icon was made in the St. Elizabeth Monastery, Minsk,
Belarus, for the Moscow Patriarchal parish of St. Michael the
Archangel, Göttingen, Germany. Our sincere thanks to Fr. Hieromonk
Benedikt (Schneider), the priest of that parish, for supplying this
icon for the Project.
